"residual images"
The following is a portfolio of images I recovered from my home in New Orleans after hurricane Katrina.
The levies failed flooding the city with water. As the waters rose notebooks containing my life's work in photography were slowly engulfed. Water seeped into the pages holding the slides. Simmering in flood water images were either washed clean or swelled to steep in all the chemicals stirring within my underwater household.
I find the images beautiful. The flood waters transformed my images. There's something within the images that expresses the experiance of hurricane Katrina. I only hope you find them as fascinating as I do.
